Safety Marte Mapu, who played 17.9% of the defensive snaps in 2023, notes how this offseason is different from last year because he isn't rehabbing an injury. He traveled to Puerto Rico with 2023 draft classmate Keion White, and hit the ground running upon their return. "I feel like there is a lot of improvement to be made. Brenden Schooler, who led the Patriots with 13 special teams tackles, is hoping to take on more of a leadership role in his third NFL season. He acknowledged part of that is striking more of an "even keel" at times. "I love this game and wear my emotions on my sleeve. That's something I'm going to try to take into [2024] — be that rock and even-keel leader. No matter what's going on on the field, I'm going to be the same guy every day."
